What do you think of my story?

I wanted to post this because I really want to know a general opinion on these subjects. Right now ive only been unemployed for 3 months however the journey to that was quite intense. I used to work as a mechanic doing general service work. That simply includes oil changes, tires, batteries, lights, rims, and simple stuff. At the time the pay was just simply great at 12$ per hour, however working in 115% weather for 10-12 hours just sucks ***. Simply what happened was is due to all the dust grime and chemicals I started suddenly having heavy sinus issues.

At first the infections were not so bad they would come and go, but within about 5 months the whole thing exploded. I had sinusitis, ear infections, sinus infections at a CONSTANT rate. Of course it goes without saying that I spent much time out of work. Within around perhaps 6 months of this I started having inner ear problems. The effects of this I can assure you are extremely interesting. Imagine sitting in your car and for some reason the car feels as if its 10 times larger then it really is, or perhaps driving and the road is not moving forward but moving sideways. The crazy part is during all this I still managed to work. Looking back on it I think it really shows how physical jobs hardly care for there workers. When your lifting trucks that weigh in excess of 1,000's of pounds on small metal lifts, and doing 5-6 cars per hour in the heat. I think its best to say you should be in good condition so as not to kill someone.

Anyway getting into the medical side of this discussion it simply didn't matter how much I went to the doctor, because of course each time I went and got antibiotics/painkillers the infection would return anyway. I had just enough money to go get the meds to get better, but not nearly enough to have surgery. Eventually my job more or less fired me at 6 am while I was at the doctors office being prescribed antibiotics. That of course I don't have to tell you is POINTLESSLY illegal, but do I have the money to contest that in court? Surely I didn't to any degree whatsoever, but that just goes without saying. They contested the unemployment saying they fired me due to attitude, so I had to wait 2 months for the money. At that time I went from being around 230 pounds to 160, so when the unemployment office called for my side of the story I obviously won. once I got the money though I managed to net a part time job as a mechanic with possible promise to be a full time mechanic at 18$ an hour. However like all intense jobs well....the store manager got fired, and of course I was out on a job again.

Last week of course my unemployment ran out and now i am waiting for a extension broke out of my mind. Pretty much all the money was spent on antibiotics etc just to keep going, so right now im just putting in dozens of applications to government jobs. I hope if I can net one perhaps maybe then I can finally get surgery. The final line and point of this post was because of a reaction I got on yahoo answers. I posted that my unemployment money was short, and of course the replies were much like %26quot;get a ******* job%26quot; or %26quot;your lazy and worthless%26quot;. Very intense things like that from more or less teenagers hah that have no idea who I am. I wonder why people cant just simply support each other? Why is it that now that everything has becomes so connected people have turned so cold? I would really like to hear everyones opinion on all this, or perhaps your story? We are surely facing some very hard times here in america. What do you think of my story? You might take this to heart and may get offended but it has to be said................

Since u worked your first job as a mechanic, then recieved serious health issue from it by your own admission. Sinus, infections etc.

Why on earth would u return and go into employment with a different company as a mechanic again?

You didnt realise that your body was not suited to the job after the pain u went through medically. You needed to learn twice lol.

Although the health issues were caused by the job. YOU were the maker of your own destruction by applying for a mechanics job again at a different company. Of course there is going to be dirt and grease there too.

I think u went back to being a mechanic after your health issue out of desperation for money. You should have used LOGIC and thought , my body is not suites to this job with all the dirt , grime and grease, it affects my allergies.

You should have applied for a job in another field of work. Like u are doing now.

The situation u are in now is still repairable. I have always thought of life as opening and closing doors. When one door closes another opens. Its how it works.

You might be down on your luck now, but in time it will change. You just have to keep the positive attitude.

The reason people called u a no hoper and told u to stop being lazy and get a job is probably because u tried to blame the company(mechanic) because there was dirt, grease and grime there. Its just silly.

Its like a fireman complaining that there are fires where he works. And taking the fire department to court because he inhaled smoke lol or A policeman who works at the police station , then sueing the police department because a criminal talked to him badly.

All mechanic workshops have dirt , grime and grease. If u dont want to get your hands dirty, then dont go for a job there. What do you think of my story? The first answer pretty much sums it up.

Never give up and good luck.
