2006 Honda Civic Oil Change?

I have a 2006 Honda Civic that I bought as a new car. The dealership told me that I wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of when to change the oil/rotate the tires because the little orange wrench would appear when I needed any car maintenance. The orange wrench came on today, but I can't make it to the Honda dealership today. How long can you put off changing the oil before it has any impact on your car? Also, I'm probably just being paranoid, but is the dealership right? Do I really not need to worry about changing the oil until my car tells me I need to?2006 Honda Civic Oil Change?yeah 90% all new cars require you to do that. you just have to read your car manual on when to change your oil and I think if the dealer said you have nothing to worry about that I think they are right. only if you bought it from Honda Dealer otherwise call your local nearest Honda Dealer and ask them. with new car they use Mobile oil and there a lot of type on which one you wanna choose. the last time I check was your car can run up to 100K miles until you need to change your oil but that also require and comes with the Car Trim level. for me I will say every 5000k or 3month which ever comes first is that time you can schedule your car for maintenance but new cars have more technology and they have improve their durability and maintenance problem so for now you are oil. you can still use your car but be sure to schedule a maintenance asap before something else happen OK. well good luck and don't worry. its a Honda You won't have a big problem with it. Trust your Honda. I own a Honda CRV. good luck.

edit: you should check your Tire and Oil level every time you fill your tank with gas along with your windshield water and coolant too. so you can be award that you car is in good condition and so you can fill them when you see the level of them drop but be sure to take your car to your Dealer or if you want to save money. just take it to your nearest Auto Zone. they have a plugging system that they plug into your car and it tell them what's wrong with your car, just like what Honda Dealer use but Auto Zone don't charge you for that. its free. so you don't have nothing to worry about this is your first time. it will go smoothly if you take action soon. good luck again.2006 Honda Civic Oil Change? The little wrench sign is tied to a sensor with your tachometer. The dealer resets this sensor and it is programed to come back on every 3000 miles or so. You can actually go 6000 between oil changes with no engine damage but i'm sure that little wrench will get on your nerves after so long. if you turn the key over and pump the gas, then turn the key back off and start it the wrench light should go off. Try pumping the gas two times, then try three times. That should take care of the light.2006 Honda Civic Oil Change?they put these gizmos in new cars just to either drive people crazy or annoy the hell out of them.

And its great for the dealers because if you dont know anything about a car you just run over to them and then they get to charge the hell out of you.

you should change the oil about every 3000 miles,,with a new oil filter too. If you go over,,so what. Just change it when you can.

One word of advice. Stay the hell away from Jiffy Lube and the rest of these oil change outfits. They use cheap oil,,cheap filters,,and any other work they try to talk you into they completely screw up and ruin your car. Then they blame you.2006 Honda Civic Oil Change?this is just a reminder.. it wont hurt you... but when you can find the time to change it make shure the engine is hot so the sludge will come out .... the reason for the time periods on oil is it has been determined that certain periods of time sludge forms.. and the formation of sludge hinders the oil to lubricat the engen effectively ok.2006 Honda Civic Oil Change? If that's the first time, since you bought that car, that the 'little wrench' lit up then you really have a problem. You should check the level of your oil every time you fill the tank and look in your owners manual to see what mileage is called for between oil changes.2006 Honda Civic Oil Change?and if you run out of oil or burn up engine are you going to say..the little wrench told me everything is ok?? check ALL fluids every 1000 miles and change oil/filter every 3000
