I need a little help!?

I understand some of it but I'm a little confused. Thank u for your help

1. A 1.30 L balloon is taken from room temperature (25.0掳C) and placed into a freezer at -11.5掳C. What is its new volume? (isobaric change)

2. A container of oxygen gas is at STP. If this sample is put into an oven at 280掳C, what would its pressure be, in atmospheres? (isovolumetric change)

3. You have a 2.40 L container of air at STP. From out of nowhere, Bigfoot stomps on it, decreasing the container's volume down to 0.500 L and increasing the pressure to 8.00 atmospheres. How hot, in 掳C, is the air in the container now?

4. You're at the zoo and have a big red 1.80 L helium balloon. The barometric pressure today is 785 mmHg. Then you hear the roar of a lion. Startled, you accidentally release the balloon. It flies away. By the time it reaches the clouds, the atmospheric pressure that high is only 0.300 atmospheres. What would be the volume of the balloon up there? (isothermal change)

5. a) You fill your car's tires to 35 psi when they were cold (12掳C). After driving for 3 hours, your car's tires warm up to 38掳C. What would be the pressure inside your tires now, in psi? (isovolumetric change) b) What is this pressure in atmospheres?

6. A 12.0 L sample of NO2 gas is at STP. What would be its new volume if its pressure was decreased to 575 mmHg and its Kelvin temperature was doubled?

7. A 5.75 gram sample of nitrogen gas is at STP. What would be its volume if its temperature was increased to 317掳C? (isobaric change)

8. a) A sample of Cl2 gas occupies a volume of 11.4 L at 3.50 atmospheres. When the Cl2 is changed to STP conditions, what will be its volume?isothermic b) How many molecules of Cl2 are there?

Partial Pressures

9. A flask contains Ne at 542 mmHg together with Ar at 234 mmHg. What will the total pressure be?

10. A tank is filled with oxygen and nitrogen. The total pressure of the tank is 6.45 atm, and the partial pressure of the nitrogen is 2.07 atm. What is the partial pressure of the oxygen?

11. A tank with a total pressure of 4.7 atm has a mixture of gases that is 72% nitrogen, and the rest is oxygen. What is the partial pressure of the nitrogen? The oxygen?

I need a little help!?NO! This is not the chemistry section and these are chemistry questions. Please post this under the SCIENCE %26amp; MATH Section. There is a chemistry section there to post this to.

    i'm only going to answer one question

    1:

    PV= nRT =%26gt; V = nRT/P

    if the P is the same (balloon will change volume, but keep same pressure), so is n R then taking the ratio is easy:

    V1/V2 = (nRT1/P)/nRT2/P)

    cancel n, R and P you get:

    V1/V2 = T1/T2

    you have to convert temperatures to kelvin - add 273.2 degrees

    V1/V2 = 25+273.2/(273.2-11.5)

    = 1.139

    V1 = 1.30L

    that means that

    1.30L/V2 = 1.139

    turn it upside down

    V2/1.30 = 1/ 1.139

    V2 = 1.30 / 1.139

    = 1.14 L

    it shrank!

    Can't anyone see a new invention past a flat?

    How about pressing 4 buttons and raiseing your vehicle up to change the oil,rotate tires exchange anything underneath with plenty of room to work. warming up your vehicle for work. But if you did change your flat, IN minutes.press button,get tire and air gun out pull air line out from under fenderwell hook-up zap off lugs change tire zap lugs on press button car goes down = done or spend $90 at Chrysler or do it the old way,not minutes for your wife,daughter at night in the snow.Can't anyone see a new invention past a flat?Possibly, but it depends on how much space it took up to keep in your car and how easy it was to use. You see those big jacks in the tire stores. They're easy to use, but very heavy. For the lugnets, ya, a cordless drill w/ attachment would probably be great!

    Good luck!Can't anyone see a new invention past a flat?ok genius show us the proto type....Lets

    serriously most wifes or duaghter would have difficulty in a shop with a hoist and air tool. most would be scared ofa air impact wrench...not all but most I know...lol

    Question on changing body parts and rims on a car?

    hi, so my question is if you decide to buy aftermarket rims for your car, will they fit on the stock rotors and tires?

    also if you buy parts of a body kit how much does it cost to get it painted to match your car?Question on changing body parts and rims on a car?they should fit around your rotors fine, that won't be a problem. Just make sure it's the right lug pattern. Alot of aftermarket rims are universal, so they will fit all 5 lug cars for example, they'll have 10 holes and you just use whichever one your car has. You have to get the same size and width rims for them to work with your tires. Also make sure you have a similar offset or higher, to avoid rubbing on the fender tabs. Most rims with the same lug pattern will be somewhere in the ball park, just check what's on your car now to avoid getting something that won't fit. Try to get a size that's close to stock, especially in width so they don't rub. You could always roll your fenders if you needed to though.

    As for the body kit, it really depends where you take it. If it's a lip kit you should be able to get the whole thing done good for about $500 bucks. You could probably find it for less, too. If it's a full body kit it's gonna be a bit more, because they would have to blend it in to match it. Full body kits usually also require sanding so the paint will last a long time. This is normally $800-$1200. Hope this helped!

    Do you think that licensing procedures should include a test on something mechanical?

    You have to pass a road test and a written test in my state but you don't have to know anything about automobiles except how to drive. I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to drive if you can't overhaul a motor or swap a 5-speed for an automatic, but I think there needs to be something. I think you should at least have to change a tire and check your fluids and tire pressure at the DMV before they will even let you take a road test.

    I've done most of my own mechanical work on my car since i started driving. If I wouldn't have, my parents would not have allowed me to drive. It's not such a bad idea. And if everyone were held more responsible for the condition of their vehicles I'd hazzard to say that the roads would be a lot safer.

    I also think a vehicle maitenance class should be mandatory in all schools.

    Is this a completly crazy idea or does it have some merit?Do you think that licensing procedures should include a test on something mechanical?It does have merit. But in our society, we like convenience. Most car insurance has option for including roadside assistance for changing tires, out of gas refill, towing and lockout services. With all this available, most people are not interested in learning more about their cars. It would be very beneficial to know more about their cars, so mechanics cannot cheat them when they go for service.Do you think that licensing procedures should include a test on something mechanical?yes it should i have been in the middle of no where and no cell service, but i am one of the lucky ones that knows how to change a tire i also save on maintenance because i can do it my self. a lot of times it is so much faster to change a tire on your own. I know a few people that have had to spend the weekend some where because they had a problem with there car and the shop could not get it done on the weekend because they needed a part (that they could have gotten at an auto parts store, but they order there parts) I pay less because i don't need to get diagnostic tests done because i know what bad spark plugs sound like. Also my cars last longer because i know how to do the up keep

    Cant take out the hook cap of my GrandMarquis 1996?

    hello everybody..

    I happen to lost the tool that is used to take out the hook cap of my mercury grand marquis 1996,, I just dont know where I left that tool to take out the hook cap so I can change my brakes,, it's a special tools that's usually found on the trunk of your car but in this case it is designed for this type of car. Look here is the hook cap and the damm frigging screw that needs to be taken out with this special tool,,,, Is there any place they sale this tool? or how is it called? You think a place where they change tires could have this special tool? Do you know any website where this sale this tool? thank you very much everybody.Cant take out the hook cap of my GrandMarquis 1996?what is a hook cap over 30 years of repairing cars never had ,seen or fixed a hook cap.

    I bet he's talking about a wheel cover with a locking screw Have you tried going to the dealer they stock them just for people who lose them . Now could you please tell me where you live If you are calling wheel covers hook caps an want to replace brakes I'm not driving in your areaCant take out the hook cap of my GrandMarquis 1996?it is probably in the drawer of the toolbox of the last peson to use itCant take out the hook cap of my GrandMarquis 1996?any garage or tire shop will have one...

  • What do you think of this Dave Barry quote about the differences between Democrats & Republicans?

    %26quot;The Democrats seem to be basically nicer people, but they have demonstrated time and again that they have the management skills of celery. They're the kind of people who'd stop to help you change a flat, but would somehow manage to set your car on fire. I would be reluctant to entrust them with a Cuisinart, let alone the economy. The Republicans, on the other hand, would know how to fix your tire, but they wouldn't bother to stop because they'd want to be on time for Ugly Pants Night at the country club.%26quot;What do you think of this Dave Barry quote about the differences between Democrats %26amp; Republicans?Berry is funny!!! Why is my car stalling out?

    Ok so I've had my car for 2 years. I've never taken it to the dealership for repairs because my car has never needed maintenance or repairs. The oil changes I've had done has been through the shop close to my home... again not a dealership. Recently... with in this month... my car went to the dealership. It had the 36,000 miles or 37,500 miles (whatever your car manual says...) maintenance (a transmission flush, blah blah blah). Now my car... that has never had ANY problems at all, stalls out when I'm braking or putting my foot on the accelerator (I'm not sure which) It's usually when I'm at gear 1 or 2. And it's always in the morning. It doesn't happen all the time in fact it's quite sporadic.

    I took the car back to the shop and told them what was going on with the car since I bought it in. They came back from 'looking it over' the told me %26quot;Did you know you have 90 lbs of air in your tires%26quot; I said %26quot; in all of them?%26quot; They said %26quot;in every one of them.%26quot; Granted I did put air in THREE of the tires a couple of days before I took the car back in. That doesn't explain why the 4th tire had 90lbs of air when they told me the tire pressure was fine the first time the car went to the dealership... and I'm not sure how that has anything to do with the vehicle stalling out, but they said that %26quot;that is the only issue%26quot; and they deflated the tires. Keep in mind I drove the car to the shop... which is about 9 or 10 miles away from where I live. Everything else had a clean bill of health. I know my car and I definitely know my car has never behaved this way in the two years that I've owned it.

    Does anyone (hopefully a good mechanic or someone savvy with cars) have any idea why my 2006 Mazda6 is acting this way or doing these things?

    Thanks in advance.Why is my car stalling out?don,t let them talk you ito having the transmission flushed. stalling you say? it could be the fuel filter is so dirty that it,s restricting the flow of gas. while your at it have the air filter checked too. i don,t know why they asked about the tires. the tires has nothing to do about the stalling. before a car can run right it has to have constant fuel to keep it going and air so it can breathe.Why is my car stalling out?Wait for the problem to get worse so that the shop technician can experience the problem. You may have to leave the car overnight and let them drive it in the morning from a cold start. If the car is under warranty, keep your paperwork showing you had the problem while the car was under warranty and should get it fixed for free.Why is my car stalling out?It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. The over inflated tires definitely would not make the car stall.

    Car problems...car will not drive smooth?

    Well I just did a engine swap on a Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. The motor is running really strong, but the car is not driving right. I can not seem to figure out what the problem would be for sure. It is not easy to explain how it is not driving right, but it is similar to a flat or warped tired making your car bounce. It seems to get worse the faster I go. I changed one of the CV boots, so I don't know if the half-shafts could cause this problem in anyway. Obviously I had to remove them and the drive shaft and transmission to do a engine swap. I still cant see any of that causing it to act up exactly like this, but Im not for sure... Also I need some new studs on my hubs and only have 3 lug nuts on my drivers side front wheel. I thought maybe the wheel could be moving around and causing the problem with only 3 lug nuts, but it's 2 lug nuts on one side and one on the opposite, not all right next to each other, so I thought it would be fine to drive a few miles at least...any ideas?Car problems...car will not drive smooth?A normal symptom of a bad half shaft is a clicking noise when backing up with the wheel turned to one side. You mentioned that you recently changed a CV boot. If dirt gets into the joint beneath the boot then it will almost always wipe out the joint. Although this may be an issue on your vehicle I don't think it would be causing the driving problem you've described unless the CV joint is really bad. More likely I would check out the hub %26amp; bearing assemblies, especially since you say some of the studs on it are broken...hope this helps!Car problems...car will not drive smooth?Ever thought of getting a wheel alignment? You could also have a bent frame, axle, etc..........really too numerous to write here.

    I strongly urge you to take it to a Dodge dealership. Have a professional take a look see.Car problems...car will not drive smooth?if it feels like a warped tire then maybe all you need to do is balance the tire, go to a tire shop and they can do it. it isnt to much. I can get it done for $10.00 but alot of places do it free for life if you buy tires.Car problems...car will not drive smooth?replace the frog's top wheel and the tire too.

    one of the tires has a bump in the suface.

    balance all tires.

    You forgot to say the original car model and year.( the one You pull the engine out.)Car problems...car will not drive smooth?A good start would be to have the tires secured with all lug nuts. It could be a bad tire as you seemed to describe it as in the beginning. Also the half shaft you didn't replace could be going bad. The older they are the sloppier they get or have more play which can cause vibration at various speeds. The first culprit is almost always a bad tire or tires that need balanced. Good luck.

    How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?

    Have you ever change one alone? Would you be afraid if you had a blow out on the highway? I would and I know that I would call for help. Now a days you can get hit by a car or someone can grab you right off the side of the road.

    What are your thoughts on this...is it a job your AAA, your husband, boy friend or dad? Do you even have an emergency roadside kit, water and a blanket in the car?How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?1) pull over to the shoulder of the road

    2) engage hazards

    3) check traffic before exiting car or even exit opposite side

    4) put out your %26quot;traffic cone%26quot; or other hazard device

    5) loosen the lug nuts on the tire with tire iron (I have a 4 way)

    6) get spare tire ready

    7) use the jack to elevate the car

    8) remove lugnuts

    9) remove tire

    10) replace with spare tire

    11) screw on lug nuts

    12) lower vehicle with jack

    13) tighten lug nuts as tight as possible.. with a 4 way you can actually use your feet/leg strength to help you

    14) put all equipment away

    15) drive safely home or to the nearest gas station

    I have changed alone, while I do prefer my hubby to do so for me. I do have an emergency roadside kit , no water or blanket though. I think all women should know how to do these things, men may not always be around. Or even a cell phone to phone for help.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?Good Question. I can't wait for answers.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?I sure cant change a tire... and i dont carry water or a blanket in my car... i dont even know if my car has a roadside kit.. if i ever do get a flat tire ill just call my dad.. cause i sure as hell couldnt change a flat tire by myself.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?Go on a crash diet right now!!! Then, right before your eyes, you'll see that spare tire change into a six pack in no time. Now you won't have to hate women anymore!! horray!!!How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?Not only can I change a tire , I can rotate all 4 tires in under 20 minutes. My father taught us the basics before we could drive our cars alone. We learned to jump start a car, change a battery %26amp; tires and could change our own oil. Now I am old and lazy , I let a shop do all my work. But I have on occasion stopped to help a few elderly women with flat tires. Its that good karma thing. Have small kit, blankets, gloves and snacks in my car trunk.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?I do not know the exact steps in changing a tire but about 9 years ago I had 2 flat tires in the same night. I had to learn real quick. You get your spare and accessories out of the trunk, put your jack under the axle or solid piece under your car, Jack it up, take off the lugnuts and then the tire, change the tire and do the reverse order. Nowadays I call my insurance company or my husband. But yes, if I had to I could do it again. I do not ever want to change my car tires again! If I would have been on a dark road I would not have left my car till daylight. Nobody stopped to help me then and nobody probably would if it happened again. No, I do not have an emergency kit, etc... Good question!How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?After verifying that I am out of the way of oncoming traffic, I

    1. Call family member, tell them I am changing a tire.

    2. Loosen lug nuts

    3. Get spare out.

    4. Jack up car

    5. Remove lug nuts

    6. Remove tire

    7. Put on spare, and lug nuts

    8. Lower jack

    9. Tighen lug nuts

    10. Put jack and spare in bed of truch

    11. Get into vehicle.

    12. Call family member to report safety.

    13. Call boyfriend and brag that I have more tools than him...

    .....not to mention a full sized spare

    14. Drive 10 miles and retighten lug nuts.

    15. Get tire replaced.

    Be prepared, ladies. Learn how to change oil, its less messy than changing diapers, learn how to check the tranny fluid, know what kind of oil and fluids you use, and keep them in the car, know how to tell if the brake fluid is low, and follow that brake line, if it's rusting out, you can kill someone you love. Keep roadside flares in the trunk, get an automotive fire extinguisher, and keep it charged, or get a disposable and check it at every oil change. Get rid of the donut, and get a full sized spare.

    and yes, keep a blanket, bottled water, and emergency food in there.

    PS, I taught my sons how to chage oil. Its easy.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?YEARS ago I learned how to do my own oil changes, tune-ups %26amp; change a flat tire.

    But now that information is useless (to me, anyways).

    I always drive a newer car, (tune-ups not required till 100,000 miles, due to platinum tip spark plugs, %26amp; 'roter %26amp; condensor' obsolete)

    New Fords come with free Roadside Assistance for 5 yrs,/60,000 miles, (change a flat, lock keys in car, towing, run out of gas, dead battery, etc) Just dial 1-800-241-FORD

    The only time I've ever used them was for locking my keys in the car (stupid mistake, but I've done it a feew times in my life)

    I live 4 miles from my job. %26amp; really don't travel too much further.

    but I carry a cell phone, %26amp; I usually have water %26amp; an extra jacket in the car.

    I work for an Auto Dealer so my oil changes %26amp; maintenance are cheap %26amp; convenient.

    Although it's been over 25 years since I've had a %26quot;roadside emergency%26quot; (had a 'blow out' in the wee hours, in a construction zone, while driving home after a cross country vacation) I'm sure I could handle most situations that come my way.

    Since i sell cars for a living, %26amp; many of the buyers are women, I have the opportunity to inform/educate my customers what to do in case of emergency.How many of you ladies can give me the steps to changing a tire?This one is easy!

    Step 1 - call husband

    step 2 - crawl into back seat with kids

    step 3 - get out snacks and blankets (always have in car)

    step 4 - pop in DVD

    step 5 - watch video and eat snacks while waiting for hubby to arrive.

    step 6 - kiss hubby when he arrives as we are now in good hands!!

    Now if hubby is is out of town I push the onstar button and proceed with above directions. (no kiss for the AAA guy though).

    Please help with chemistry problem so lost?

    1. On a summer day, you take a road trip through Death Valley, California, in an antique car. You start out at a temperature of 21掳C, but the temperature in Death Valley will reach a peak of 51掳C. The tires on your car hold 15.6 L of nitrogen gas at a starting pressure of 249 kPa. The tires will burst when the internal pressure (Pb) reaches 269 kPa. Answer the following questions and show your work.

    ?How many moles of nitrogen gas are in each tire?

    ?What will the tire pressure be at peak temperature in Death Valley?

    ?Will the tires burst in Death Valley? Explain.

    ?If you must let nitrogen gas out of the tire before you go, to what pressure must you reduce the tires before you start your trip? (Assume no significant change in tire volume.)Please help with chemistry problem so lost?Use the gas equation

    PV = nRT

    Work out the moles N2 using the original conditions of Temp and Pressure...

    P = pressure (249 kPa = 2.4574 atm)

    V = 15.6 L

    n = moles

    T = Temp in Kelvin (21 deg C = 273.15 + 21 = 294.15 Kelvin)

    R = gas constant = 0.0821 L atm mol^-1 K^-1

    - (R varies accoring to your units of Pressure and Volume, to use 0.0821 L atm mol^-1 K^-1 you will need to convert pressure to atm - see link on Gas constant and pressure conversion)

    n = PV / RT

    n = (2.4574 atm x 15.6 L) / (294.15 K x 0.0821 L atm mol^-1 K^-1)

    n = 38.33544 atm L / 24.149715 L atm mol^-1

    n = 1.5874 moles N2

    n = 1.59 mol (3 sig fig)

    Now, the temp goes up to 51 deg C

    So new temp = 273.15 + 51 = 324.15 K

    T = 324.15 K

    So now work out what pressure the number of moles of N2 will give at the new Temp

    all other conditions are the same

    PV = nRT

    Therefore

    P = nRT / V

    P = (1.5874 mol x 0.0821 L atm mol^-1K^-1 x 324.15 K) / 15.6 L

    P = 2.71 atm

    The pressure goes up to 2.71 atm

    2.71 atm = 274.59 kPa

    SO yes, the tires will burst.

    Now

    You need to work out how many moles will give you a pressure of 269 kPa at 51 deg C, (because this is when the tyres will blow up. Then go back and work out what pressure this number of moles generates under the starting conditions of 21 deg C and 15.6 L

    Again

    PV=nRT

    For tires to burst at 51 deg C

    P = 269 kPa (= 2.6548 atm)

    V = 15.6 L (question says assume no volume change)

    T = 51 deg C = 324.15 K

    R = 0.0821 L atm mol^-1K^-1

    n = unknown

    n = RV / RT

    n = (2.6548 x 15.6) / (0.0821 x 324.15)

    n = 1.5562 moles of N2

    1.5562 moles of N2 in the tyres will give a pressure of 269 kPa at 51deg C, so this is the MINIMUM moles of N2 that will make the tires

    blow up.

    Now, enter this number of moles into the original starting conditions to tell you what pressure the tyres will be at if you start with this number of moles of N2.

    P = ?

    V = 15.6 L

    n = 1.5562 mol

    T = 21 deg C = 294.15 K

    R = 0.0821 L atm mol^-1K^-1

    P = nRT / V

    P = (1.5562 mol x 0.0821 x 294.15 K) / 15.6 L

    P = 2.4091 atm

    P = 244.1 kPa

    The starting pressure needs to be 244.1 kPa or just under in order for the tyres not to burst..

  • Pressure, Temperature, Chemistry?

(Assume no significant change in tire volume.)Pressure, Temperature, Chemistry?I have no calculator on me. But you can plug in the values.

    PV = nRT

    P = pressure = 249kPa --%26gt; convert to atm --%26gt; 2.457438934atm

    V = 15.6L

    n = ?

    R = 0.0821L*atm*mol^-1*K^-1

    T = 21掳C --%26gt; convert to K --%26gt; 294K

    n = PV / RT

    P1V1 / T1 = P2V2 / T2

    249kPa*15.6L / 294K = ?kPa*15.6L / (273 + 51)K

    Isolate for P2 and you'll get your answer. If it is equal or greater than 269kPa, then the tires will burst.

    For the last one, I believe we can assume that the maximum pressure the tires can be at peak temperature is 268kPa.

    P1V1 / T1 = P2V2 / T2

    ?*15.6L / 294K = 268kPa*15.6L / (273 + 51)K. The answer will give you the maximum initial tire pressure.

    I hope this helps.

    How many females here know how to...?

    jump off another car, or change a tire, or change your own oil?

    Thank goodness I grew up around all my uncles, because a poor old woman needed a jump this morning and there was no one at Autozone that could do it right then and it's like 7 degrees out, so I borrowed their cables and got her on her way, then she tried to hand me all her money, and I said %26quot;no way%26quot; it was my pleasure! I would never take someones money like that, it was probably all she had!How many females here know how to...?you are great. i know how to all of those things to. it was really nice of you to help a stranger and expect nothing in return. give yourself a pat.How many females here know how to...?You did a good thing.How many females here know how to...?I applaud you for this. And yes I know how to do it too.

    How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?

    My husband says that was one of the first things he fell in love with. The fact that I knew what happened to the car when they changed the tire pressure or changed the camber on the tires. Most women don't even know what it means when the car is loose or tight! I was just curious!How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?I do , now, my wife didn't know what NASCAR was when we meet .but during our ten years together she has learned a lot from me .shes much sexier now . How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?women with strong maternal instincts turn me on more than anything. I do all the guy stuff and when I come home I need a woman who is there to do the woman stuff. To be soft and emotional. I think a womans ignorance to cars of any kind is kinda cute. Since i'm a trained technician, and have modified many racing machines, I feel comfortable handling that department. I don't ever expect a woman to understand how atmospheric pressure increases intake velocity by a venturi in a carburetor, or how jacking the steering wheel to the right, before you make a left turn makes the car go through the corner better. But I am impressed by some of the women in this forum, I may be envious of the guys who have their women sitting next to them while they watch a race. But it doesn't turn me on in the sense of being hot or sexy, because some of the finest babes I've ever been with weren't even into NASCAR. So I guess i'm not one of those guys.How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?I find it interesting when a woman actually knows what's going on in the sport and has an opinion about it. Not just empty comments to make her man happy. I guess i'm lucky that my girlfriend is interested and keeps up with the news and rumours, she helps me run a pool and she loves going to watch races so she dose most of our trip planning. Also when it comes to Hockey and Baseball she knows Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than me. :D But as far as being %26quot; Hot %26quot; or %26quot; Sexy %26quot; she has other attributes that fit those words better.How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?Nothing like a woman that knows how to tighten up a car that is too loose. I think it is very sexy. I know this young chick that has a crush on me that works at the parts house and I see her all of the time when getting my parts. If I wasn't too old I would pick her up because she turns me on when she can tell me what I don't know about cars. She even liked my old 63 Chevy truck more than she liked my Corvette. That's odd for a woman too. What's really nice is when she looks up all of my previous addresses just to help me with warranty replacement parts. A woman who knows the importance of saving a buck and knows her parts too? Cool.

    Actually an x girlfriend is what got me interested in NASCAR. Could care less about any other sport but NASCAR is still here and she is gone. Ha ha ... that sounded like the old %26quot;Hee Haw%26quot; tune. You know

    %26quot;I thought I'd found true love,

    You met another, and PFFT! You was gone!%26quot;

    and %26quot;PFFT%26quot; she is still gone.

    I would think it would make the relationship more interesting as you would have more to share.How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?Lol...!!...thts pretty cool..but the most thing tht guys think is hot..are games...Try it..u'll love it..i'd prefer PS3 with Modern Warfare 2 or anything u love..How many guys out there think it is sexy or hot if your girlfriend/ wife knows a lot about NASCAR?Oh yeah.

  • What does it mean when you need to replace your tire tread?

    I just got an oil change and they said I need to replace 3 tired becuase of existing tire tread less than 2/32nds of an inch. I have no idea what that means, and they say I have an uneven tire tread. Can I still drive the car or will my tires blow up? He just said that I can be pulled over, he didnt say anything about tires blowing. So how much more can I drive my car before the tires blow? I drive 45 minutes on the highway everyday so this really concerns me, I dont want to get in a wreck on there cause of this.What does it mean when you need to replace your tire tread?Simply, your tires are worn out and getting to the point of being dangerous. You need new tires! Replace all 4 at one time and keep the best of the old 4 for a spare.

    Consider how much cheaper a set of tires will be rather than an ambulance and hospital bill, should one of them blow and cause you to wreck.

    Better safe than sorry!What does it mean when you need to replace your tire tread?Well the tread on your tire gives you traction on various surfaces and in various weather so the less you have the less safe your vehicle becomes in different driving situations. Dry traction can actually improve when the tires are starting to bald, but in rain or snow your car will have much less control and traction. They pretty much told you that you need new tires, and you do, so get them.

    How much does it cost to paint a car?

    I'm looking to paint my car sometime soon because the paint on my fender is peeling off. I also want to change the color from white to some type of blue. Any idea on how much it would cost to get a decent paint job that will be just as good as the factory paint?

    Also what places in San Diego, CA are a good, reliable place to get your car painted at? (Someone who wont overspray tires, lights, windows, etc...)How much does it cost to paint a car?You can usually get a cheap paint job around 500.00. But if you want a nice paint job your looking more 900-1200. My brother in law does this for a living and I have heard him quote beforeHow much does it cost to paint a car?maaco...probably 3 grandHow much does it cost to paint a car?Don't go to maaco if you want a good job.

    For a job that is as good as the factory paint you will be looking for at least $3k, probably more since you are changing colors.How much does it cost to paint a car?Quality costs.

    You can get a job at Maaco for about $250. But it won't last the year.

    Or go to a reputable body shop, and spend easily $2000 or more, and have a paint job like it was from the factory.

    Since you're changing colors drastically, you also want to get the door sill, under the hood, all those parts that people never think about, because they only think about the outside of the car.

    $2000, maybe more, for what you want to do.

    Isnt there a car that tells you everything on the dashboard?

    like when to change your oil, low tire, etc =D. i have a nissan versa and it shows me when my car has low tire pressure and when the brake is still on. my friend has an acura car that shows you when you when you need to change oil, how man miles you can drive till your completely out of gas etc. its kinda nice cause i want an acura. i wanna know if there are other cars that tell you problems on the dashboard or if it even exist? lol. i need those kinda car cause i am clueless on cars lol. PLEASE NO RUDE COMMENTS =D thank U!Isnt there a car that tells you everything on the dashboard?Some of the higher end cars - like your friend's Acura - have all of that information displayed on the dash. Some of them even project the speedometer and other information onto the windshield. This is known as a %26quot;heads up%26quot; display.Isnt there a car that tells you everything on the dashboard?94 honda prelude has that not sure of othersIsnt there a car that tells you everything on the dashboard?There is a lot of amazing technology that goes in to idiot-proofing modern cars but I doubt if there will ever be one that is completely idiot proof. I suggest you dare to think for yourself and try to steer clear of vehicles loaded with idiot proof systems. You will save a king's ransom on repairs with fewer of those systems to fail.

    Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?

    Let's say there is a guy who is like James Bond -- he lives a life full of adventure, is capable of doing just about any amazing feat, is ruggedly handsome, and can leap across building in a single bound...BUT his personality is dull, unexpressive, and boring.

    Then there is another guy who is outgoing, animated, witty, full of funny jokes, engaging stories, and can make anybody be his friend. BUT he has zero practical know-how or ability. He couldn't even change the tire on your car if his life depended on it.

    Basically, the first guy is a do'er and the second guy is a talker. Which guy would you prefer and why? And you can't say a combination of both. You have to pick one or the other. Which is more important?Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?The latter.

    Physical prowess fades a lot faster than an excellent personality. I don't care if a guy is incapable of changing a tire or lifting heavy things, all I want is someone I can talk to and have fun with.

    Example; my current boyfriend. Not ruggedly handsome, lives a boring indoor life, certainly not the buff-nut model of a man. However, he is a really nice guy, he's funny, and he's incredibly intelligent. I love him to pieces.Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?I would say Stop breaking your head over these bad catches. There are a lot more fish in the sea.: )Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?The doer. He can talk when inspired in just the right way. Honestly, the poll won't get you anywhere. Everybody has a different %26quot;On button%26quot;. Sometimes a lady turns on her %26quot;On button%26quot; and channels a man's. THAT is the key

    .Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?Sorry. . .flawed question. . .for me anyway. I don't see how a James Bond type can be boring. He might be a pompous idiot but never boring. And there are lots of great guys who just don't fix things. But for the sake of your question and since I can fix most things or I can pay to have them fixed, I'll take the guy that I enjoy being with. . .so not the boring guy. . .ever.Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?Depends on a girls personal needs and wants. If she likes adventure and beauty in a man and is willing to sacrifice a tire change for humor and engaging stories. Then her most important trait would be the social suave to dream with. While on the other hand if a girls personal needs are more perfectly met by substance over style and being bored with a dull inexpressive man to live and dream with.I guess then her most important trait would be the guy with the practical know how.what ever your choice girl friend, just remember what you see in this case is what you get, and no matter how much you try you will never change either one of these traits. So whatever your fancy; you are right when you say, %26quot; you can't say a combination of both%26quot;, because there will not ever be a combination of both with the two traits that you are questioning. Very seldom can you partake in the cake and frosting too in this type of scenario.Ladies, what trait is more important in a man -- social suave or technical/physical aptitude?I prefer guy 1. I find men who can do practical things very attractive. And I don't believe a man who can do all that kind of stuff is boring. I had a bloke who was like no.2 once, but he was a right bastard. Animated and witty and engaging, but he had a very cruel streak too. I don't want another one like that.

    Ladies, what is a more important trait in a guy - social suave or technical aptitude?

    Let's say there is a guy who is like James Bond -- he lives a life full of adventure, is capable of doing just about any amazing feat, is ruggedly handsome, and is the guy whose lifeboat you would want to get in if you were on a sinking ship...BUT his personality is dull, unexpressive, and boring.

Which is more important?Ladies, what is a more important trait in a guy - social suave or technical aptitude?For me the 2nd guy is a keeper. There is no way i could be with someone who didn't have a great sense of humor. If he can't make me laugh or make my day a little brighter i'll give him the boot. Although it's practical to have a guy who knows how to do stuff, the funny guy will (in my opinion) always be wanted around. We can always figure out how to change a tire together :)Ladies, what is a more important trait in a guy - social suave or technical aptitude?I would have to go with the second guy :)

    To me, its more important to have someone who is fun to be around and entertaining as well, personality-wise.

  • After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?

    thanks for your help.After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?Every car and every driver will get different mileage. I'm quite a hard driver and with front wheel drive cars I get about 16000 from the fronts and about 30000 to 35000 from the rears.After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?It's dependant on the condition / wear of the tyre. Assuming you have no bald patches (your tyre - not you), you should check the depth gauge - a slight rubber bump on the main tread grooves. If your tyre tread is above this then you're fine. Also check for uneven wear, as this could mean tracking problems. Most tyre places will check this for you if you're not confident doing so.

    Anyway, you should get a good 20K miles out of a new set of tyres, depending on your driving style. Maybe more.After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?There will be a amssive variation depending on how you drive it and how good the wheel allignment is.

    Typically 25000 miles for the fronts and 35000 for the rears should be about it.After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?You should get about 20,000 miles out of set of decent make of tyres, maybe a bit less for the front axle which does the driving, braking and steering and a bit more for the rear trailing axle.After how many miles approx do you need to change the tyres on a car(its a clio if that makes any difference,)?you could need to change them in a 1000 miles if you kept rubbing the walls , so distance means nothing

    Car tire sidewall cracking?

    I have a 2003 Honda Accord with about 42,000 miles on Michelin tires (original, came with the car). The car is parked on the drive-way everyday in the sun (Los Angeles). I drive it maybe about ten miles a day right now on local streets, maybe a trip on the freeway here and there...

    I started noticing some cracking on the sidewall on the back-right tire. I realize that it's probably time for me to get a new set of times at around 50,000 miles but I don't have the money to spend right now. (Unless I really have to and have no other choice.) and would prefer to ride it out until I really have to change.

    How can one tell if the cracks are merely cosmetic in nature or something more serious (actual damage to the rubber)? Or is this just something that I have to take to a tire specialist, who I'm guessing will just tell me to get new tires ASAP.

    Thanks for your help!Car tire sidewall cracking?Age related cracking in tire rubber is quite normal and usually only cosmetic. Depending on its severity you may not need to do anything in the short term. If you have concerns take it to a good tire shop and have someone take a look at them.Car tire sidewall cracking?give the tires some tire shine

    gives it moisture ( to help prevent cracking)

    and makes em look newCar tire sidewall cracking?those tires are weather cracked and getting weak, I would replace them.Car tire sidewall cracking?usually when the sides crack, its from the rubber drying out too much (a lot of sun exposure) and yes it is a real problem. It weekens the tire and in the heat or cold could blow out. If it were a new or newer tire I'd say it was a bad tire and to go back to place of purchase and have them replace it, usually free of charge.Car tire sidewall cracking?id get new tires asap. once they start cracking they are very vulnerable to blowouts which can be catastrophic especially on the highway or on a curvy road. depending on the amount of cracks the tire may rupture after hitting a bump of pot hole. its like if you find a rubber-band that's got cracks all over it, if you stretch it it will snap, same with your tires. the sie wall is subject to extreme amounts of pressure and other forces that are hazardous to a normal tire with out a lot of wear.Car tire sidewall cracking?It's the age of the tires combined with Ozone. The sun beats the heck out rubber. I would say that as long as they are minor and the tires are holding air, you're alright. When you get new tires, first check for the date the manufacturer made the tire. Some tires sit on the shelf for a long time and you want to get the freshest tire possible. If for example you buy a new tire, but it has been sitting on the shelf for two years, then you are putting on a two year old tire. Second, get a car cover. It will help with the whole car as well as shading the tires.

    I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?

    2.What is the correct tire air pressure?

    3.How often should your car檚 oil be changed? What kind of oil should you specify? Do you need a new oil filter also?

    4.How much per year will your insurance cost when you get your license? How much will it go up if you get in a $5000 accident that is determined to be your fault?

    5.What are the recommended maintenance services for a car and when should you get them, and how much would they cost approximately?

    6.What do collision, comprehensive, uninsured motorist, and liability insurance cover? What are the insurance deductibles? (this might be personalized im not sure)

    7. What should you do if there is smoke coming out of your hood?

    I am getting my license soon, and my dad wants me to know all of this information before i take my test, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1.Ultimately you should not drive on a flat tire, but if you must no more than 1-2 miles at very slow speeds about 2-5 miles per hour. A suggestion is though buying some run flats, they are a certain type of tire you can drive on even when flat though they are expensive.

    2. The correct tire pressure is found on your vehicles door jamb( drivers side) not the tire like many people would think.

    3. If you use full synthetic every 12000 miles is good if you you use regular oil( non synthetic) every 3000 miles granted this is if you dont drive on dirt roads or in dirty conditions. If so every 3000 miles. And yes you always need a new oil filter

    4.Insurance varies on age driving record and now more recently credit rating.....oh also type of car. No matter the cost of the accident it will go up!

    5.Every car will be different but if you take to a credible maintnence shop or garage they will have a maint. schedule for your specific car, costs can vary from $40-$80.

    6. That you need to ask your insurance agent.

    7. Stop and turn off the engine and open the hood if you have an extiguisher use if not get away.I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1. depends on the tire if its new or old and if its run-flats or tubeless etc.

    3. depends on your oil if its fully synthetic or ordinary. ordinary, every 5000 km.I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1. If it's totally flat, maybe 50 feet.

    2. ... Depends on your car. Seriously. Look it up in your manual. If you have NO idea whatsoever and you just had to fill up your tires, go for 35PSI or so.

    3. ... Depends on your car as well, and what conditions your drive it in. 5000 miles is reasonable, getting synthetic vs. dino oil is up to you, but try to stick with what the car's already been getting. Yes, you should change the oil filter too.

    4. It depends on whether you are male or female, your age, the car, where you live, etc. Ask your agent. A totally random estimate is $1500 for a 16-year-old in LA county driving a 96 Accord. Part 2, depends on your company too.

    5. A lot of maintenence. Your manual will be able to cover it better than I ever will.

    6. Collission covers money when you are at fault and pays for yourself and your own car. Comprehensive cover stuff like your car being stolen, etc. Liability is only when you are at fault and only pays for other people's damages. Dedectible means the first x dollars that you don't get money for (say you need $4000 because of an accident, if your deductible was $500 you'd only get $3500)

    7. Stop driving. Don't open the hood. Check your temperature gauge, etc. Call for help.I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1. Not long at all depends on speed if your going fast and tire is copmpletly flat it will go fast road conditions affect it too. Way to hard to tell but i dotn expect one to last longer than a few minutes at like 30 MPH.

    2. On your drivers side door or where your door opens on the drivers side is a sticker that tells you that. i think like 32 PSI is a usual.

    3.Conventional oil every 3 K miles. Whatever your car uses. and Yes filter needs to be changed.

    4.Too hard to tell you need to specify what car how old you are and every insurance is different with the rate they increase it if you at fault.

    5. Again look at your manual every car is different.

    6.Talk to your insurance agent.

    7. Pull over and turn off your car.

    p.s. Your dads a freakign weirdoI have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1) Zero inches.

    2) It says it on the tire, in small letters somewhere it will say %26quot;MAX PSI: __%26quot;

    3) Every 3000 miles, use the factory oil viscosity, yes.

    4) Varies based on where you live. A lot.

    5)Varies based on the car. A Ferrari has more service intervals at a higher cost than a Ford Focus, for example. Call the service department at your local dealer and ask.

    7) Stop driving the car, get it towed to a shop.

    I regret answering these questions now that i read the last line, you should have had to look it up yourself.I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1.not very long, in fact very short distance before it gets damaged

    2.depends on the tire

    3.3000 miles or 3 months, depends on the car, you get a new oil filter every time you change the oil

    4.depends on gender, car, company, in a 5000 dollar accident it will go up alot

    5.when you get ur oil changed they ask you for different services like transmission service or air filter services. they cost different prices

    6. collision is if your car gets damaged and its your fault your insurance will pay for your car, comprehensive is your insurance company pays for acts of god like deer hits or hail damage. uninsured motorist is if some uninsured guy hits your car your insurance will pay for it, and liability is if you hit somebody your insurance will pay for their car only. deductibles are how much you pay for damage to your car before the insurance pays

    7. stop the car immediatelyI have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?#3. Look into an extended drain synthetic motor oil like Amsoil and you only need to change your oil and filter annually. This is also more environmentally responsible. Everyone's going to tell you 3,000 miles, but read an eye-opening article on the subject at my website, http://www.number1synthetic.com -- click 'Other Links'. Europeans have been on 10,000+ mile oil changes for years!

    You can also click 'AMSOIL Online Product Guide' to enter your year, make, model, and engine to get a list of Amsoil synthetic lubricants and filters for your vehicle.

    Good luck!I have some car questions: 1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?1.How long can you drive on a flat tire before damaging the rim?

    Never ever drive on a flat tire (one that is noticably flat) it is just not a safe thing to do.

    2.What is the correct tire air pressure?

    correct air pressure if i remember right depends on the tire/car

    3.How often should your car檚 oil be changed? What kind of oil should you specify? Do you need a new oil filter also?

    Dependig on how old your car is the oil will need to be changed ever 3,000-5,000 miles (newer engines can go a bit longer and be fine) or every 3 months which ever comes first. The mechanic will know what kind of oil to use on your car, brand doesn't really matter much but the type depends on your car. when the mechanic checks your oil he will also check the air filter to see if it needs replacing, usually he will ask before hand if this is alright (mine always does) and if he has permission to change it if needed.

    4.How much per year will your insurance cost when you get your license? How much will it go up if you get in a $5000 accident that is determined to be your fault?

    Insurance is very variable. it depends on the insurance company its self, how old you are, what kind of car you drive, how much you drive, and where you live are the major ones. You need to speek to an insurace adjuster to figure these things out and to get an estimated rate. you can also seach for insurance companies online and get a free quote from them. it will give you an idea of what your payments will be but may not be exact.

    5.What are the recommended maintenance services for a car and when should you get them, and how much would they cost approximately?

    Again depends on your car and how old it is. i would say as long as you keep your oil changed and all the fluids in your car where they are supposed to be and you don't have any problems with then it doesn't really matter. But as soon as you notice something wrong get it checked out right away! that is the most important thing. it could be something small but you ignore it and it becomes bigger.

    6.What do collision, comprehensive, uninsured motorist, and liability insurance cover? What are the insurance deductibles? (this might be personalized im not sure)

    Collision insurance is if you are in a collision(accident)

    uninsured motorist is if the person who hits you doesn't have insurance and it is their fault your insurance company will pay to have your car fixed.

    Liabity is if you are in an accident and its your fault your insurance company will pay for to fix the other car but not yours.

    Insurace deductubles are what you have to meet before your insurance company will pay

    7. What should you do if there is smoke coming out of your hood?

    If there is smoke comming out of your hood turn the car off, get out and get away from the car as fast as your feet will carry you and call 911.

    I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?

    I went to Walmart to have my oil changed and my tires rotated a year ago and they damaged my bumper,my radiator and my prop rod was missing. I am still waiting for any resolution from their bs insurance company CMI. I reported them to the BBB with no response from Walmart. Dear Janet, It is ridiculous to me that a big corporation like Walmart has wasted so much of my time after damaging my car. I am a very small fish in the world and maybe that is why nothing has happened with my claim. I called you back about my claim and as usual I have received no response from you or Walmart. It has almost been a year since the incident happened. If I do not hear back from you I will be taking Walmart to small claims court very shortly to recover my loses. Walmart damaged my car I had to pay to repair it before any more damage was caused by their negligence, and waste more of my time with the better business bureau which was thrown out with no response back from Walmart my case was closed. I will take Walmart to small claims court I have a witness that can testify in my behalf that there was nothing wrong with my car when he dropped it off. I have the papers from Walmart that states my radiator was not leaking when Walmart received it. A manager told me that they would not have repaired my car if the radiator was leaking. After we go to court I will proceed with having the state also investigate Walmart and the practices they use to cover their tracks after damaging a customers car. Sincerely, Brett Krusniak

    Dear Mr. Krusniak, I returned your call on 9/9/08 and received the message that %26quot;the party you are calling has temporarily disconnected their service%26quot;. I called again a few moments ago and left you a message on your voice mail that I would be sending you this e-mail and would be glad to correspond with you either by phone or e-mail, whichever you prefer. We'd like to work towards an amicable resolution of your claim. In order to do so, I'll need photos of the damage to your vehicle, estimates (two if the damage is over $500), and a statement from a certified mechanic confirming that the damage to the radiator could have be caused by lowering or dropping the hood. Upon receipt of this information, I'll review your claim again and contact you to let you know exactly what we'll be able to do to settle this matter. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please either call me at 1-800-527-0566, ext. 20550 or send me an e-mail at jahall@cmiw.com. Thank you, Janet A. Hall

    Subject: RE: my claim

    Dear Janet, Are you serious? After a year has gone by and you have done nothing with my claim you want me to explain to you how my radiator was damaged by raising and lowering the hood? Why don't you explain to me how you bring a car in for an oil change and tire repair and rotation and get your car back with no prop rod, a radiator pouring out coolant and the bumper cracked. Not to mention that the tire that had a slow leak has had a slow leak ever since I paid for it to be repaired. How does all of this happen by raising and lowering the hood? I think News 8 live on your side would definitely like to find the same things out! I have kept every correspondence from CMI and Walmart. You can't tell me that the video at Walmart doesn't show exactly what happened to my car. I will get you the estimates but I spent well over an hour of my time at Walmart so they could take pictures of the damage to my bumper and the missing prop rod. Are you telling me you do not have those? You also should have the bill for my radiator. Do you want a copy of the Better Business Bureau report also to explain the events to you? Your insurance company I believe is a stall tactic to try to get the customer to give up on ever getting compensation for their loses from Walmart but I am not some one who will just give up. I have done nothing more than come to Walmart for a service and when I was laid off from my job I had to come up with the money to fix my radiator which had nothing to do with me and I expeditiously reported to Walmart what had happened during the service to my car on the same day. If you are going to try and drag this out and frustrate me even further please tell me now because my fuse is short at this point in time and I am not feeling amicable. I really do not see why I have to keep playing games with you and I really do not want anyone else to have to deal with this frustration either so why don't you just tell me now what you plan on doing or I will proceed in a more positive direcI went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?So how does anybody lose a prop rod, unless it either wasn't there, or the hinged end was broker? I don't understand, sorry.

    You have said they damaged your radiator, but you, unfortunately have not said where the leak was, and what the rad repair shop said was the problem.

    Bumper damage could have been done by another motorist in the parking lot, and you have given us no description that would indicate Wal-Mart did the damage.

    I can't speak for anybody else, but I see nothing to indicate Wal-Mart has done anything wrong. You would have to give a description of the damage, where it was, what it looked like, and what the repair people noted.

    Perhaps the claim is stil outstanding because there is no evidence Wal-Mart is responsible? If you take it to court, even small claims, it will be up to you to prove they damaged it, that it was undamaged before they took it in the shop, and was damaged while actually in the shop, or being driven by a Wal-Mart employee.

    You have my sympathy for your frustrations.

    Good luck.I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?Way to go getting this out there. Kudos to you indeed.

    Heres an article for complaining effectively at walmart.

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/articleI went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?Wow....if your intention was to let the world know what's going on at Wally World...you sure did that.

    Good luck and stick to it!!!!

    Stop the emails and dances to walmart. Hire a lawyer or get a free legal consult of what to do next. It's been one year, walmart is messing with you.

    About 8 months ago I got my windows tinted at my local nissan dealership. That night I noticed the passenger side door had a big dent in it. I went back to nissan and demanded them to fix my s*it. They did and detailed it, gave me a new set of tires, and free oil changes up to one year.

    I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?It looks like you forgot to gather evidence. Does the body shop have pictures of the damage?

    I'm curious as well how the radiator damage is connected. It sounds more like a poorly timed coincidence unless the bumper was damaged to the point of it also piercing the radiator. Hate to say it, but that one part sounds like poorly timed radiator leak. As far as customer service is concerned, it would be a wise choice for them to pay for the radiator if they did the other damage.

    What kind of damage was it? I'm asking because I'm curious how it was damaged. Is it possible that it is from a car hitting your car? That is something you want to consider before you end up taking it to court.

    As far as dealing with insurance companies and lawsuits, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by the ranting and raving in the letter. I know it helps feel better, but:

    1) You're just going to delay the process longer. The more opinions you put into something like that, the less time the person will have to read what you are saying. They'll likely set it aside for another time. Keep your message very clear. You might even want to set down a bullet listing of points rather than an actual letter.

    2) It might hurt if it does get taken to court. It will show an irrationality on your part. Her letter, while seemingly unhelpful in your situation, was at least very direct and professional. It said she tried to contact you on such and such a date and got a certain message. To proceed, she needs certain information and evidence.

    3) %26quot;Why don't you just tell me now what you plan on doing...%26quot; She did. She said to send her this information and then they will proceed from there. It sounds like you did not send her pictures (you assumed Wal Mart would send those pictures on). It is not their job to provide the evidence if you're the one making the damage claim. If anything, they would try to not have evidence.

    I'm not saying they're not at fault. It sounds like they are. I'm just saying the way to handle these things is very different from the way you are handling them and if you continue that way, you will make it harder on yourself.I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?Keep pursuing this and make well-written, detailed, non-emotional claims to the BBB and RipOffReport.com. Be professional and you will get results. Post on forums your story (again, in a coherent and professional manner, documenting exactly what happened, with photos).

    If all else fails, I would go buy the book %26quot;Rip Off Revenge%26quot;, which you can get at ripoffreport.com ... it details some extreme measures for getting your claims settled with large corporations.

    Sorry that you lost your job and that this happened to you ... you get dealt a bad hand sometimes, eh?I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?That won't work. Speak with them in the store at the auto counter. Be loud enough for customers in the area to hear the story. If they want to talk to you in an office or somewhere else, refuse and get louder. Do this often. I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?too verbose. You come across as a hothead just venting, not a person who is actually going to take action.

    You would get better response if you cut your letter back to three paragraphs of 3 maybe 4 sentences each. Just say what you want and why. Leave out the irrelevent ranting.I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?I had mine hurt by Sam's Club ( it's related to wal-mart) %26amp; the tire guy, manager %26amp; myself had a little talk. All that I did was get one estimate for the repair %26amp; they gave me the money ($275) in cash about 3 days later.I went to Walmart to have my tires rotated and my oil changed and got my car back damaged!?Go to consumerist. They deal with these sorts of shady practices all the time and have contacts in almost every large company in America.

Such as tire changing, checking all fluids, what to do if your car overheats, change bulbs, fuses, any electrical problems, how to jumpstart your car battery if it fails, and more safety maintaince tips so you will not be stranded at a mechanics hands.

I, fortunately, have a father who used to be a mechanic, and now works as a truck instector for the DMV. I know a little more than most girls my age (17 yo), which still isn't a lot. I can check my fluids, replace headlights/assemblies, change battery, check my tires, etc. Nothing really in depth. I'd appreciate a class like that, personally.

    One of my friends didn't even know that you had to refill your wiper fluid! Not just girls, but any new drivers should have this sort of education. Maybe run a class for teens. • Is there a way to unlock you starter in your car if its locked?

    First we got up to take my brother to work and found out that the tire was flat. There was a cut on the inside part of the tire the part that face toward the car so we was wondering how tha happened. But anyway we got that changed and a dount on it. But now the car won't start. Its not the battery the light and everything come on it just that it won't start. So they say the starter is locked and I was wondering is there something I could do myself to unlock the starter so it would start?Is there a way to unlock you starter in your car if its locked?HI

    It could still be the battery. The starter takes a lot of juice..

    Sometime the starter does get locked in to the ring gear but that's a rarely. You can usually hit it with a hammer lightly sometimes that works, rocking the car (if its a stick and not an automatic) well unstick it. When you turn the key do you hear a click? or nothing? If you hear a click they the starter is engaging there's just not enough power to turn it. It can be any thing from a dead or weak battery to the cables needing cleaned where they come in contact with the battery to the starter its self.

    good luck

    Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??

    I need 4 new tires, but I dont have the money to get it done. There are some places that change your tires with used tires for much cheaper. I do drive alot, but I might be getting rid of the car in a few months also. Is it ok to put used tires on it instead? How long should they last? I have a 2001 pontiac aztek just in case that matters. ThanksIs it ok to get used tires put on my car??Used tires may be okay if there is enough remaining tread depth, if the tires were not from a wrecked car that slid into a curb or something like that ( which may have damaged or weakened the sidewall ), they do not have irregular wear, and as long as the tires are fairly new ( the rubber in the tire does have a shelf life, most tire experts say that tires are good for approximately 5 or 6 years but will begin to harden and crack after that ).Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??yeah its fine.Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??It's perfectly fine. I know a guy that buys tires off of wrecked vehicles and he only gets tires if they're close to new. So I pay 23$ per tire that are just as good as brand new. Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??yea ull be totally fine. make sure u put the best tires on the front if you hav front wheel drive or on the back if you have rear wheel drive...if u have all wheel drive make sure u use the best four u can find...dont forget to get them balanced too! i learned that the hard way :S

    hope that helpsIs it ok to get used tires put on my car??Just make sure that there are no defects and that there is enough tread for the amount of driving that you will do until you get rid of the Aztek. Your best bet is to find a large facility that sells and installs custom rims. Usually customers who buy newer vehicles and want to customize their cars will buy a set of rims in which they need a different sized tire. Therefore, they will trade in the original tires (which are usually in top condition) for the new ones. The larger and more specialized the facility the more tires and size varieties they will have in stock.Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??Till there's no major problems with them like if they are bald or close to being bald. They don't look warped or what not. Things like that than it shouldn't be a problem to put used tires on your car.Is it ok to get used tires put on my car??As long as the tires are matching pairs it should be fine. If you can't get all four the same brand %26amp; model tire(of course all the same size) try to get the fronts as a pair and the rear as a pair, never mix %26amp; match front tires as different tire brands give different handling qualities and you may experience a strange driving vehicle.

    Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?

    My car had a low tire pressure warning light come on, but when I had the oil changed the next day, they put air in all the tires and the light went away. But now it is back, and after measuring the tire pressure in all 4 tires, I determined it was the front driver tire that was low. I inflated it a couple of PSIs above the recommended, but the warning light is still on. I measured the other 3 and they seem fine. I am know I have an issue with one of my tires since when I had the oil change the message went away, but not sure which tire it is anymore. Need help on how to handle this situation, I hate going to a tire place and acting ignorant. Should I still assume it is still that front driver tire (although I know it is over-inflated now), or is that dumb since I know that is the only tire that is over the recommended? Such a simple situation, but really hard to figure out... Thanks for your help.Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?the best way to handle this is take it to a tire store and have them check them all for leaks. they are set up do such things as this. If you wanted to do it yourself, just take a spray bottle with some soap and water and spray down the tires one at a time and look for the soapy water to bubble up. Be sure to coat the entire tire with water. Also spray the water around the base of the valve stem and take the cap of the valve stem to check the schraeder valve inside. Be sure to spray all along the edge of the wheel too. the best way to find a small leak is to take the wheel and tire off the car and dunk it in a tub of water and look for the escaping air to bubble. Once you have identified which tire is leaking and where, then you can take it in to have it repaired. It is also possible to have an aluminum wheel that's pourous and leaking right through the aluminum.Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?I don't know where you live, but colder weather will cause your warning light to come on. Tires deflate as the weather gets colder. Get a good air pressure gauge and make sure your tires are inflated to the proper specification. If it continues, you probably have a slow leak.Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?Check your owners manual on how to reset your tire pressure sensor. Reset it after checking that all four tires are inflated equally. A good service shop would have reset it for you after servicing your car. Most tire pressure sensors work off the wheel speed sensor which is actually part of the anti lock brake system. The system compares the wheel speed of all 4 tires, if any one wheel is out of sync with the others for an extended amount of time the system sees that as an under inflated tire. This is caused by the inflation of the tire directly affects the circumference of the tire. Over inflating will make the tire slightly larger than the rest giving the same result - that tire will be out of sync with the rest.Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?There's no shame in going to a tire place and asking. That's what they're there for. It may be a puncture, a rim leak, or a valve stem that requires replacement. Driving on a tire that is under inflated can cause bigger problems. Let them resolve it while it's minor.Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?did you take that couple of extra pounds of air out of that front tire to see if the light would go out?Best way to handle low tire pressure for my car?take it to a tire shop and have it fixed.if the drivers front tire is going down then that is a good bet to be the one leaking.why would you be acting ignorant just for getting it fixed

    Your last mechanic was HORRIBLE! You hire me to change your tires for you because you refuse to let your last mechanic ever touch your car again. While you are waiting, I decide to remove your engine and replace it with one that doesnt run as good- it ran like crap in all the other cars I tried it in first. Then I decide to change your battery and alternator, even though there was nothing wrong with the ones that were in it.

    I give you the bill and you are very angry because I did things to your car WAY beyond what you brought it in for, and then you realize I never even changed the tires- which is what you expected me to do. On top of that, you waited 4 days to get the car thinking it would only take an hour or so.

    After you had time to cool off, you start thinking: %26quot;Well, maybe everything he did made my car better! Maybe I didnt even NEED new tires?

    You jump in the car and on the way home all your tires go flat, then the engine dies like it did in every other car it was in before. You call me up asking if I can help you, but I tell you that %26quot;I already have your money and I dont really care if you are happy with my work.%26quot; Then I tell you that %26quot;you should be happy because NOW you have a brand new alternator and battery. Quit complaining!%26quot;

    Then you find out that every mechanic you call refuses to work on your car because you should have paid attention to all the news lately about how bad my service is- and how, after I get my hands on your car- it cant be repaired at all.

    Would I still be your mechanic? Would you hire me again? You would probably feel like you had no choice after being rejected by every other mechanic, so you would continue to deal with me even though I would make you pay up front, and never get your car fixed right.

    This is what you have to look forward to IF government health care doesnt work out like they are telling you it will.

    Would you still support this administration if this happens?Would I still be your mechanic?Govt run health Care will NEVER work in America. If it gets passed the way the Libs want it to, within a year it will be a bad thing to call yourself a Lib..you will get shot or worse. True Americans are not Obama supporting Libs.Would I still be your mechanic?How's that Hope and Change workin out for ya?Would I still be your mechanic?I trade my clunker in no thanks I like a warrantyWould I still be your mechanic?But he gave me free health care!

    He said it was free if I pay for me, my kids, the welfare queen down the street, the illegals at the car wash, and ....well then its free, I guess.Would I still be your mechanic?You are huffing too much paint thinner, dude. Get a life already. Is this the sum total of your social life: writing dumb screeds on a lame question and answer website. My oh my, how the mighty conservadicks have fallen. Go join the army.

    vibrations

    etc. etc....Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?yes from tire wearDoes anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?I can ensure you they didnt align it if it pulls either to left or right..some mechanics just mark wear the old tie rod was set, and puts the new one on to where the old one was. Sad that there are shady mechanis out there that gives the rest of us a bad name by doing half *** work...bring it back, ask if they did align it, tell them to drive it, and request they doing again for free! If they didnt align it, get it done..cost 40 bucks....good luck !Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?Does your car pull to the left or right?
