Is there a way to unlock you starter in your car if its locked?

First we got up to take my brother to work and found out that the tire was flat. There was a cut on the inside part of the tire the part that face toward the car so we was wondering how tha happened. But anyway we got that changed and a dount on it. But now the car won't start. Its not the battery the light and everything come on it just that it won't start. So they say the starter is locked and I was wondering is there something I could do myself to unlock the starter so it would start? Is there a way to unlock you starter in your car if its locked?HI

It could still be the battery. The starter takes a lot of juice..

Sometime the starter does get locked in to the ring gear but that's a rarely. You can usually hit it with a hammer lightly sometimes that works, rocking the car (if its a stick and not an automatic) well unstick it. When you turn the key do you hear a click? or nothing? If you hear a click they the starter is engaging there's just not enough power to turn it. It can be any thing from a dead or weak battery to the cables needing cleaned where they come in contact with the battery to the starter its self.

good luck
