Short Story
It was 3:00 in the afternoon, as Matt came running out of the bus's doors singing %26quot;School's out for summer! School's out forever!%26quot; He burst in the front door of his house.
%26quot;Hi Matthew, how was your last day of 6th grade?%26quot; His Mother questioned.
%26quot;Just fine mom.%26quot; .
%26quot;Thats good. We should be leaving for the Grand Canyon soon, i hope you've packed your bags already.%26quot;
%26quot;Yeah, I just did it this morning.%26quot; he lied.
Matt darted up the stairs, to his room and Hastily threw some old T-shirts and some jeans into a duffle bag.
%26quot;Done.%26quot; he murmured under his breath.
He took the bag and headed back down the stairs and into the the kitchen where his mother was just finishing up washing the dishes.
%26quot;Are you all ready? We're just waiting for your father to get back here with our passports.%26quot;
%26quot;Yep all read...%26quot; He was interrupted by the front door opening. His father appeared, holding 3 American passports.
%26quot;I'm back, Lets go!%26quot; Matt's father said, seeming eager to leave.
Matt and his parents threw their luggage into the trunk, and got in the car.
%26quot;Okay, it's a long drive from Canada to Arizona and we're not stopping to head back, so before we leave, are we forgetting anything?%26quot;
%26quot;Nope!%26quot; Responded matt and his mother at the same time.
%26quot;Alright, then let's go.%26quot;
Just then, matt remembered how much he'd hated car rides. They're so tedious. I can't watch TV, or play video games. I don't even get to listen to what I want on the radio because dad never lets anyone change the station from Cool Country 98.5. Matt thought.
*Sigh*
The engine started up as Matt angrily buckled his seatbelt. Then the car took off down the street. Matt watched out the window. He passed by the grocery store, with its elegant glowing neon sign. He passed by the toy shop, admiring the displays in the window.
When the car finally got on the highway, Matt started to doze off. When suddenly, he was awakened by a loud THUMP.
Matt looked out the window and saw that the car was slowing to a stop. %26quot;Hey, wha- what happened?
%26quot;I'm not sure.%26quot; His father replied. %26quot;I'm going to get out and have a look.%26quot;
Matt watched his father walk towards the back of the car. He carefully inspected the car's tires. Then Matt heard him mutter something, not quite sure what, as came back around the car. %26quot;Well, it seems we've got a flat tire. I can fix this but it may take a while.%26quot; Said Matt's father in an unhappy manner.
%26quot;Aww man!%26quot; Matt said, as he kicked the back of the seat in a fit of anger.
Matt's father turned up the volume on the radio all the way so he could hear his music from outside of the car. Then he took some strange tool, Matt had never seen before, out of the glove compartment and headed back to the tire.
%26quot;Matthew, don't wonder off now.%26quot; Matt's mother said.
%26quot;'Okay mom.%26quot; Matt replied.?Matt wanted to get far away from his fathers irritating music as quickly as possible. So, dissobaying his mothers orders, he decided to sneak off into the woods.Please help me with my short story?he should get eaten by a werewolf!!!!Please help me with my short story?It's your story, you decide. Just be creative. Think of all the things that could happen to Matthew and start writing a few, then choose the best one.Please help me with my short story?I have one question. If Matt is on the highway, how does he sneak off into the woods? You may have to tweak that detail. But if you do have him sneak off into the woods you could have him get lost and have the feeling of someone following him. Oh, how are you going to explain why he's gone? You're going to need to find some way that his mom and dad don't notice for a while. If you do that, (maybe get them to think that he's sleeping) his dad could fix the tire and they could go on their way without realizing that they left Matt behind.
I tall depends on what type of genre you want your story to be. My option is of the mystery genre but you could make it as comedy or horror, anything you want. I hope this is helpful.Please help me with my short story?What should happen next? You decide with your imagination! But also consider some of these ideas:
1) Matt enters a magical place in the woods; it suddenly gets darker, all the pathways he takes changes so he will never return! But is that too common?
2) He notices some strange things before his mom sneaks up behind him not far from their van and scolds him??
